Rest & Pacing Planner
Turn distance and climb into a minute-by-minute timeline: walking blocks, short breaks, a long lunch, and a finish time — or reverse-engineer the latest start from your deadline.
Plan the day on trail
Uses Naismith for moving time, then loops your block / break / lunch rhythm across the day.

How is this calculated?
Moving time follows Naismith's Rule: distance/speed, plus 30 min per 300 m climb and 10 min per 300 m descent, all multiplied by a terrain factor (road 1.0, trail 1.15, rough 1.35, snow 1.5). The day is then split into repeating walking blocks; between blocks you rest short, except at the halfway point where one longer lunch is inserted. If you give a finish deadline, the same total duration is subtracted from it to find the latest start.
moving_min = (dist/speed×60 + climb/300×30 + descent/300×10) × terrain
