How is this calculated?
Each line item starts from a base quantity for a small day group, then scales with headcount and trip length. Trauma-tier items (tourniquet, SAM splint, extra emergency blanket) are added when terrain risk is high or evacuation exceeds 6 hours.
| Item | Scaling rule |
|---|---|
| Adhesive bandages | 8 + people×2 + days×1 |
| Gauze pads (10×10) | 4 + people×1 |
| Antiseptic wipes | 8 + people×2 |
| Blister moleskin | 2 + ⌊days/2⌋ |
| Pain / fever tablets | 12 + people×4 |
| Anti-diarrheal tablets | 6 + people×2 |
| Emergency blanket | 1 + (hours>6 ? 1 : 0) |
| Tourniquet | 1 if risk=high or hours>6, else 0 |
| SAM splint | 1 if risk=high, else 0 |
| Kit weight | 0.10 kg + people×0.04 + days×0.02 + risk tier (low 0 / mid 0.08 / high 0.15) + (hours>6 ? 0.10 : 0) |
